Beer Quality
Excellence in Our DNA
Brasserie de Silly has always cultivated a love of flavor and artisanal excellence. For us, a great beer is above all a symbol of conviviality and shared memories. So that everyone finds their joy in those precious moments, we pour all our expertise into crafting a unique range of 19 character-driven beers.
Investments: Modernity, Quality, and Eco-Responsibility
Brasserie de Silly is reaching a historic milestone by combining family tradition with technological innovation. To meet today’s energy challenges, the brewery installed 450 photovoltaic solar panels on its rooftops. This eco-responsible investment generates 100,000 kWh of electricity per year, reducing our energy consumption by 25% and our CO2 emissions by 60.5 metric tons.
At the same time, the brewery is entering a new era with the 2025 acquisition of an impressive fully automated brewhouse by TMCI Padovan (Omnia Technologies) — a flagship of European engineering. Representing a major multi-million euro investment, this new equipment boasts a capacity of 70 hectoliters per batch, or 7,000 liters of beer per cycle.
Beyond performance gains, this investment elevates the quality of our beers. The precise automation of processes frees up valuable time for our brewers, allowing them to focus fully on the heart of their craft: the art of brewing and the rigor of quality controls.

Quality Control at Brasserie de Silly
With new equipment and strict scientific protocols, Brasserie de Silly strengthens its production monitoring at every stage to guarantee the excellence of its beers.
1. Physico-Chemical and Microbiological Analysis
- Physico-chemical monitoring: The lab measures pH at key stages (mashing, fermentation, etc.) to optimize enzymatic reactions. Density is monitored to track sugar conversion and alcohol content. Other criteria (color, IBU bitterness, dissolved oxygen) are analyzed to ensure consistent taste and appearance.
- Microbiological monitoring: Technicians verify yeast purity and equipment cleanliness (via ATP-metric and microscopic tests) to prevent any contamination by bacteria or wild yeasts.
2. Yield and Finished Product Validation
- Economic optimization: The lab calculates extraction yield to measure the efficiency of malt sugar recovery and limit raw material losses.
- Final validation: Before commercialization, the product undergoes final checks: sensory analysis (aromas and flavors), temporal stability tests, and dissolved gas measurement (CO2 and O2) for optimal carbonation and preservation.
This total scientific rigor guarantees consumers a flawless beer that meets the brewery’s exacting standards.
International Competitions: Brasserie de Silly in the Spotlight
The years 2025 and 2026 mark a historic milestone for Brasserie de Silly. As it celebrates its 175th anniversary, the establishment sees the quality and authenticity of its ancestral expertise — passed down through six generations — consistently recognized at prestigious international competitions.
At the 2025 World Beer Awards, Silly Saison Village Bio achieved a double triumph: the gold medal in the “Saison” category and the title of Country Winner Belgium. This same organic beer also won a silver medal at the 2025 Asia Beer Challenge, an influential competition where the fruity and refreshing Pink Killer took the gold.
On November 17th, at the 2025 Brussels Beer Challenge, the legendary Silly Scotch prevailed over more than 1,700 competitors to win the gold medal, winning over experts with its copper color and complex notes of caramel, honey, and fruit.
Finally, the range shone at the 2025 Untappd Community Awards — a contest based on ratings from millions of beer enthusiasts where only a tiny fraction of beers are honored. The Silly Scotch Barrel Aged variants achieved a historic triple: gold for the Sauvignon Blanc version, silver for the Chardonnay, and bronze for the Bordeaux.
